Warm Season Winterizer Pack: For our warm-season lawns, the term “winterizer” is much different than most people think. We are not trying to push our Bermuda, St Augustine, Zoysia, Centipede, or Bahia grass. Instead, we want to put it to bed and this pack will do just that.

Product Description:

The definition of “winterizer” is important. It literally translates to “the last application of the year,” and for warm-season lawns, our goal is to feed the soil and reduce stress as the turf goes off to winter slumber and dormancy. Keep in mind, we don’t get snow cover so the lawn will be hit with outside stresses from foot traffic, wind, weeds, and even disease, all winter long.

In the pack, we have a high potassium lawn fertilizer that contains water-soluble micronutrients as well as chelating humic and fulvic bio-stimulants delivered from Greene County Fertilizer quarts. And guess what? The two bio-stimulants in this pack CAN be mixed together!

The Air8 in this pack is for penetrating into the soil, opening up space for air and water to permeate. We then add in additional humic acid (Humic12) to fill some of that space with carbon which is great for the soil.

• 7-0-20 Stress Blend: This granular fert is high potassium, low nitrogen lawn fertilizer to help your turf in and out of stressful situations.
• 0-0-1 Humic12: This liquid bio-stimulant is great for root growth, chlorophyll content, nutrient uptake, soil structure, water retention, and plant quality.
• 0-0-5 AIR-8: This liquid aeration with humic and fulvic is designed to create space in the soil, increase water penetration, and encourage deeper rooting to drive more oxygen into the topsoil profile.

The three of these products work together to prep your turf for take-off in the spring! By bundling them together, we are able to pass along significant savings over purchasing separately.

Application Information:

First off: if you are still mowing your lawn at least every 10-12 days or so, then you can utilize this pack. If you are NOT mowing anymore and your lawn has gone dormant, then it’s too late for you to use this pack this season but, you can still pick up some bio-stimulants and pre-emergent  to stop weeds.

When your pack arrives, apply the 7-0-20 Stress Blend and water it in. If you are really having fun, you can apply your mix of Air8 and Humic12 right on top and then water all of them in together with a quick sprinkler session.

You could also opt to spread out the fun and wait a week or two to apply your bio-stimulants. It’s up to you. The key is to get these applications done to feed the soil as we head into winter. Remember, in the south, the soil doesn’t freeze so even when your lawn goes dormant, the soil still retains some activity.

You will want to keep mowing as often as needed and do not change your mowing height. No matter which warm-season grass you have, just keep mowing at the same height. This is not the time to change mowing heights.
